The shortlist for the Booker Prize 2024 has been announced and this year it's an international affair, with authors from Australia, the Netherlands, the U.S, the U.K. and Canada all featured.

Highlights include Rachel Kushner's effortlessly cool and stylish reinvention of the spy thriller - Creation Lake, Samantha Harvey's beautifully-written Orbital, set miles above the Earth, and Percival Everett's powerful reimagining of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, James.
